The reigning champions Dabang Delhi KC will play in the opening game of the ninth Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), which is expected to begin on October 7. In the opening game, Delhi will face off against U Mumba. The Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru will host the game between Delhi and Mumbai. Telugu Titans and Bengaluru Bulls will square off in the day's second game. The third and final game of the day pits the UP Yoddhas against the Jaipur Pink Panthers.
This season, PKL will be played in an open door style. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the previous season, the PKL games had to be played inside.
The Patna Pirates, the only team to successfully defend the PKL championship, will open their new season on Saturday by playing Puneri Paltan. It is planned for the season to go until mid-December. The first 66 games' schedule has finally been made public. In the first section, each of the 12 competing teams will play a game. The triple-header will be played on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the season.
By the end of October 2022, the second portion of the schedule is anticipated to be made public.
Three phases will be used to play out the ninth season of PKL. In Bengaluru, all 12 teams will compete in the opening round. The second phase matches will be held at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune. The third and final phase's matches will be held in Hyderabad.
